New wave of tension in Manipur: Modi govt fails to control situation
Imphal: Communal riots have once again erupted in the civil war-torn state of Manipur due to the partisan policies of the Modi government.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian newspaper “Times of India” in a report said violence has once again flared up in Manipur’s Kamjong district as unknown assailants set fire to 20 houses at 3 places.
The miscreants set fire to the border village of Kuki, and in retaliation, the villages of the Naga tribes were targeted.
In these incidents of fire, 15 houses of the village of Faimul were completely burnt down, while seven houses of the Naga community were partially damaged.
Amnesty International has called the riots, human rights violations and displacement in Manipur the worst failure of the Modi government.
According to Professor Ajayi Nimayi, the conflict arising from the negligence of the Modi government is more destructive than the civil war of the nineties.
The recent riots prove that the Modi government has failed miserably in maintaining law and order situation in Manipur.
