Burhan Wani’s sacrifice created new spirit of freedom among Kashmiri youth: APHC-AJK
Karachi: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has said that the sacrifice of popular youth leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani, who was martyred on July 8, 2016, by Indian troop in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, breathed a new life into the Kashmir freedom movement.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC-AJK chapter Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi addressing a news conference in Karachi said that Burhan Wani, by sacrificing his life, created a new spirit of freedom and right to self-determination among the Kashmiri youth, which can never be suppressed by force.
He said over the past years, the Indian government in occupied Jammu and Kashmir has increased measures like military siege, extrajudicial killings, forced arrests, house raids, imprisonment of political activists, restrictions on the media and changing the population ratio, which are against international laws and human rights principles.
Other APHC-AJK leaders on the occasion said despite the unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, the Kashmiri people have not given up their demand for right self-determination.
They called upon the international community, the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and international human rights organizations to take serious note of the situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and play an effective role in ensuring the right of the Kashmiri people to determine their future in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions.
During the press conference, satisfaction was expressed that during the US-Iran war, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir recognized Pakistan as a peacemaker and peace-loving country at the global level and it was expected that there would also be positive progress in resolving the Kashmir issue fairly.
On this occasion, it was announced that a grand rally would be held on Wednesday, July 8 at 5:00pm from Arts Council, Karachi, to Karachi Press Club on the occasion of the tenth martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Muzaffar Wani.
The Hurriyat leadership appealed to all political and religious parties, lawyers, students, business community, labourers organizations, human rights activists, civil society, Kashmiri refugees and media representatives of Karachi to participate in this rally to express their solidarity with the Kashmiri people and give a message to the world that the people of Pakistan stand by their Kashmiri brothers in their just struggle.
At the end of the press conference, a great tribute was paid to the martyrs of Kashmir, especially Burhan Muzaffar Wani, the steadfastness of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir was saluted and the resolve was expressed that political, diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri people would continue at all levels until they achieve their right to self-determination.
APHC-AJK General Secretary Advocate Pervez Ahmed, Information Secretary Imtiaz Wani, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Zahid Safi, Bashir Saduzai, Nazakat Hussain, Fakhar Abbas and others were present during the press conference.
