Two Indian nationals arrested on drug trafficking charges in Nepal

Kathmandu : Nepal police have arrested two Indian nationals on charges of drug trafficking during an anti-narcotics operation in Rupandehi district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the arrested men were identified as Ram Dayal Sharma, 34, and Iqbal Khan, 50. The operation was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Bureau of Nepal Police following a tip-off.
Police said one of the Indian nationals opened fire during the operation, prompting retaliatory action in which he sustained a bullet injury below his left knee. He was shifted to Lumbini Provincial Hospital for treatment.
During the operation, police recovered around 300 grams of heroin, a pistol, two rounds of ammunition, a motorbike and two mobile phones.
Both Indian nationals have been taken into custody by the Rupandehi District Police, which has launched further investigation into the case.
