July 19 day of renewal of Jammu and Kashmir’s historical relationship with Pakistan APHC-AJK

Islamabad: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has said that July 19 is a historic and decisive day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir when on this day in 1947, the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference expressed the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people by passing the resolution of Accession to Pakistan.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC-AJK in a statement issued in Islamabad said the Pakistan Accession Day is a symbol of the historical, political and ideological relationship of the Kashmiri people with Pakistan. It said for the past 78 years, the Kashmiri people have been making unprecedented sacrifices to achieve their inalienable right to self-determination and even Indian oppression and tyranny, military siege, political revenge and serious violations of human rights could not shake their spirit of freedom.

The statement said the ongoing demographic shift, land grabbing, arrests of political activists and restrictions on expression in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including the unilateral and illegal measures taken by India on August 5, 2019, cannot change the ground realities.

It said the issue of Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute, the just and lasting solution of which lies only in granting the Kashmiri people the right to self-determination in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.

The APHC-AJK urged the United Nations to take notice of the serious human rights violations ongoing in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and play its role in granting the Kashmiris their right to self-determination according to the resolutions it has passed.
