Education minister must go, PM Modi must apologize to students: Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi: Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has said that the Opposition will not allow any discussion in the Parliament until Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns or is removed from office and Prime Minister Narendra Modi apologizes to the protesting students.
According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking to reporters outside the Indian Parliament, Rahul Gandhi said that his microphone was switched off in the Lok Sabha when he attempted to speak, preventing him from raising the students’ concerns.
He said the Opposition fully supported the students’ demands. “The first demand is that the corrupt Education Minister must go. The second is that those responsible for attacking the students should be held accountable and action must be taken against them. The third is that Prime Minister Modi should apologise to the students,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi reiterated that the Opposition would not participate in any discussion in the House until the Education Minister resigns or is dismissed.
