Authorities seize more residential houses in IIOJK
Srinagar: The authorities in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir today seized two immovable properties worth about Rs 1.35 crore in Srinagar.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian police in a statement said the seized properties include a two-storey residential house in Nadir Gund, Pir Bagh area of Hyderpora, worth about Rs 70 lakh and owned by Aqib Farooq.
The police also seized a single-storey residential house in Indrahama Gaso, Batapora area of Hazratbal, worth about Rs 65 lakh. The house is owned by Azan Pervez Gultsaz, who is originally a resident of Kani Mohalla Ranawari and is currently residing in Indrahama Gaso.
The police claimed that both the properties were acquired from the proceeds of drug trade.
After the abrogation of the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019, Indian authorities have intensified the process of dispossessing Kashmiris of their land and property to change the demographics of the territory.
