Srinagar-Jammu highway closed today
Srinagar: Traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway was suspended after works at vulnerable locations on Udhampur and Ramban districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, vehicular movement on the highway remained completely suspended today after the district administrations of Udhampur and Ramban ordered a temporary closure to facilitate restoration and stabilisation works at vulnerable locations.
According to the authorities, the closure was imposed to enable intensive road restoration, debris clearance and slope stabilisation works at Gangroo and Kishtwari Pathar in Ramban district, and Samroli and Ladha in Udhampur district.
The Srinagar-Jammu Highway is the only road link connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the world and has witnessed repeated disruptions in recent days due to adverse weather and landslides.
