Indian SOG member injured in firing incident in IIOJK
Srinagar: A Special Operations Group (SOG) member of the Indian police was injured in a firing incident under unexplained circumstances in Islamabad district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, officials claimed that the incident occurred during a patrol in the Magam area of Kokernag when the SOG member’s service weapon accidentally discharged, with the bullet hitting him in the foot.
The injured SOG member was initially shifted to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Kokernag, for treatment and was later referred to the Government Medical College (GMC), Islamabad, for specialized medical care.

Observers said incidents of accidental firing involving Indian forces’ personnel have become a recurring phenomenon in IIOJK, reflecting poor weapon handling, inadequate training and a lack of professionalism among the occupation forces.
