Contractors protest against corruption of PWD officials in Rajouri
Jammu: Contractors staged a protest in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Division Thannamandi over corruption.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protesters including Shakeel Ahmed Mir, Amjad Khan, Showkat Ahmed Shawl and Ajaz Ahmed alleged that money was being demanded in connection with allotment of works and other routine official processes. They sought a probe into the allegations.
The contractors said the corrupt practices were affecting the execution of development works and causing hardships to the public.
Meanwhile, the Superintending Engineer, PWD (R&B) Circle Rajouri, has sought an explanation from the Executive Engineer regarding videos circulated on social media concerning the functioning of the Division.
