Student delegation meets bereaved family of Kishtwar minor girl victim
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a delegation of the Jammu & Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) has met the bereaved family of the minor girl in Kishtwar and expressed solidarity with them following sexual assault on her and subsequent death.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the delegation, led by Advocate Mubashir Ahmed, listened to the family’s concerns and reiterated that the matter must be investigated with utmost seriousness, sensitivity and impartiality.
Speaking on the occasion, Mubashir Ahmed demanded that the investigation be transferred to the Crime Branch, or entrusted to a senior-level Special Investigation Team (SIT), to ensure greater independence, credibility and public confidence in the process. He said the Association has sought immediate intervention and appropriate oversight of the investigation.
“The circumstances leading to the minor’s death must be examined in their entirety and the investigation should not be restricted only to those who have already been arrested,” he said.
The JKSA delegation assured the family of full support and called for stringent action against all those responsible.
