MBBS, BDS interns continue indefinite strike in IIOJK today
Srinaagr: MBBS and BDS interns at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu continued their indefinite strike for the fourth day, today, demanding an increase in monthly stipend.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest-cum-strike across government medical colleges in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir began on August 31, 2026.
Protesting interns said their stipend had remained unchanged for nearly seven years despite heavy workloads, long working hours, night shifts, emergency duties and rising cost of living.
Meanwhile, MBBS and BDS interns also staged a protest at GMC Islamabad.
