Indian Army, paramilitary forces, Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel and Village Defence Guards (VDGs) have launched cordon-and-search operations and questioned individuals in different areas of Udhampur, Reasi, Doda, Rajouri and Poonch districts.
Indian forces have intensified search operations following reports of suspicious movements in Mahore, Pouni, Baderwah and Kandi areas of Reasi, Rajouri and Doda districts. The VDG personnel also fired several gunshots in the areas, claiming to have observed suspicious movements.
The Indian forces have continued search operations in Basantgarh, Majalta and Bhalesa areas following the killing of two youth in a fake encounter last week.
Cordon-and-search operations and frisking are also underway in different areas of Islamabad, Shopian, Budgam and Baramulla districts against pro-freedom activists.
The Indian forces are continuing operations and house-to-house searches in an attempt to maintain control over the areas and target people supporting the freedom movement. Such operations have also intensified the presence and activities of Indian armed forces, creating a war-like situation in the occupied territory.
