CJP announces fresh protest if CEC Gyanesh Kumar refuses to step down
Founder Abhijeet Dipke calls for ‘Chalo Delhi’ campaign on October 10

Mumbai: Cockroach Janta Party leader Abhijeet Dipke has announced a fresh protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on October 10 if Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar fails to resign, hours after thousands joined a CJP demonstration in Mumbai.
Dipke said the proposed protest would be a peaceful agitation and called on citizens seeking free and fair elections to join the campaign.
“If Gyanesh Kumar doesn’t resign, cockroaches from across India will march to Delhi & protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10,” he said in a post on X.
Earlier, speaking at the protest at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, Dipke warned of “Jantar Mantar 2.0” if Kumar did not step down and called for a “Chalo Delhi” campaign.
Dipke said that after deletion of voters’ names, the BJP won states which it had not won even when the Narendra Modi wave was at its peak.
“If Gyanesh Kumar does not resign, the Gen Z of the entire nation will go to Delhi. There will be Jantar Mantar 2.0,” he said.
“The government is so incompetent that we have to protest again in two months,” the CJP founder said, referring to the Jantar Mantar protest over the NEET paper leak. Referring to the proposal for simultaneous elections, he said that the real objective of the ruling BJP was “One Nation, One Election, One Party”.
Dipke said the CJP had chosen Maharashtra to launch its protest against CEC Kumar because the irregularities started from the state. He said that 13 crore voters had been deleted in two years. In 2024, there were 97 crore registered voters and the gap between the victory between the NDA and INDIA grouping was just 2 per cent in the Lok Sabha polls, he said.
Dipke further said that Kumar was appointed 15 days before the polls to increase the gap. He also said that the BJP “stole” the Maharashtra assembly elections in 2024 by adding 40 lakh voters to the electoral rolls. He said 40,000 voters were deleted from AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal’s assembly constituency in Delhi, where Kejriwal subsequently lost by around 4,000 votes. In Tamil Nadu, Dipke said that nearly one lakh voters got deleted from former chief minister M K Stalin’s constituency and he subsequently lost by 10,000 votes. Similarly, he said, Mamata Banerjee lost in West Bengal after voters were deleted from her constituency.
The CJP leader also said that the BJP was seeking to weaken regional parties, starting with the Shiv Sena and NCP in Maharashtra, and referred to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena as a “shell company”.
