Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference, expressing serious concern over the deteriorating situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has said that Kashmiris of every age and gender, particularly youth, are being mercilessly targeted, tortured, summoned and humiliated by Indian forces and agencies in the occupied territory.

APHC members in a meeting in Srinagar today said that Indian forces under the BJP regime led by the Lieutenant Governor have intensified the spree of arrests, torture and confiscation of properties since August 05, 2019 in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar said, the leaders lamented that Indian troops and dreaded agencies have turned Kashmir into a living hell for its residents under the garb of so-called cordon and search operations and raids.

The meeting urged the Indian BJP government to release all political prisoners, including APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fehmeeda Sofi, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Pir Saifullah, Merajuddin Kalwal, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Bilal Siddiqi, Maulvi Bashir Irfani, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Advocate Mian Abdul Qayoom, Dr Hameed Fayaz, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Farooq Ahmed Tawheedi, Fayaz Hussain Jafri, Zaffar Akbar Butt and others lodged in different jails of India and the occupied territory.

The APHC said the BJP regime must understand that no amount of brutalization will be able to subjugate the Kashmiris and that Indian state terrorism will further strengthen their resolve to continue their struggle for achieving their cherished goal of freedom. History bears witness to the fact that freedom movements cannot be suppressed through brutal methods, the statement said.

The APHC urged India to shun rigidity and resolve the Kashmir dispute as per United Nations resolutions.
