Fire catches oil tanker in Jammu, triggers blaze in multiple vehicles

Srinagar: A fire broke out in an oil tanker in Jammu on Wednesday, triggering a blaze that spread to several other tankers in the area.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred in the Transport Nagar area near the Regional Transport Office (RTO), where the fire initially erupted in one tanker under mysterious circumstances and quickly spread to four to five nearby tankers.

Officials said two tankers carrying smaller quantities of oil were completely gutted after being engulfed by flames. However, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.

The area, which houses a large number of oil tankers along with makeshift dwellings (jhuggies), is considered highly vulnerable, raising concerns over safety arrangements and the risk of such incidents.KMS
