Muslim teenager assaulted, paraded naked by Hindutva mob in Telangana
Hyderabad (India): A Muslim teenager was assaulted and paraded naked by a Hindutva mob chanting in Sangareddy district of the Indian state of Telangana.
According to Kashmir Media Service, disturbing videos of the incident that took place in Morgi village of the district have gone viral on social media.
One video shows a mob kicking the teenager, Abbas, as he lies on the ground while another video shows the mob putting fire on his private part.
The mob can also be seen chanting the Hindu religious slogan ‘Jai Shri Ram’ while assaulting the Muslim youth. They accused him of “disrespecting” a saffron (BJP) flag.
Deputy Superintendent of police, Venkat Reddy, was quoted by The Times of India as saying that two cases have been filed – one against the teenager and another against the mob. The teenager has been arrested, he said.
The victim has been booked under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC). A complaint was filed against the villagers for assaulting him. Subsequently, the police filed charges against the locals under various sections of IPC but arrested none of them.
Meanwhile, the President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi, strongly reacted to the videos demanding strict action against the mob violence. In a post on ‘X’ he said, “A man was beaten up & paraded naked in Sangareddy, Telangana. Whatever his offensive behaviour, this kind of heinous mob violence is condemnable.”
