Kerala court sentences 15 PFI workers to death
Alappuzha (Kerala): A court in the Indian state of Kerala has sentenced to death 15 members of prominent Muslim organization, Popular Front of India (PFI).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the court sentenced the PFI members in connection with the murder of Bharatiya Janata Party OBC (Other Backward Class) wing leader Ranjith Sreenivasan in Alappuzha district in 2021, the special prosecutor of the case said.
The sentence was pronounced by Mavelikkara Additional District judge, V G Sreedevi.
Those convicted in the case are Naisam, Ajmal, Anoop, Muhammad Aslam, Abdul Kalam, Abdul Kalam, Sarafudheen, Manshad, Jaseeb Raja, Navas, Sameer, Naseer, Sakeer Hussain, Shaji and Shernas Asharaf.
Sreenivasan, a lawyer and the BJP OBC wing state secretary, was killed in his home on December 19, 2021.
