AIMIM leader Abdul Salam shot dead in Bihar
Patna: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Abdul Salam was shot dead in India’s Bihar state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, some bike-borne attackers opened fire and shot dead AIMIM state secretary and district president Abdul Salam in Gopalganj area of the state.
Salam was on his way to catch a train when the assailants attacked him. He was then rushed to Sadar Hospital in Turkaha where he succumbed to his injuries.
This is the second such killing of an AIMIM leader in Bihar since December 2023, when the party’s district president in Siwan, Arif Jamal, was shot dead.
Reacting to the killing, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi slammed Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar.
“AIMIM’s bypoll candidate and state secretary Abdul Salam Aslam Mukhiya has been shot dead. I pray to Allah to give patience to his family. Last year, in December, our Siwan district president Arif Jamal was shot dead….. Why are only our leaders the target? Will their families get justice?” he posted on X.
