Indian army employing new tactics to deter IIOJK people from pursuing freedom cause
Srinagar: After failing to suppress the Kashmiris’ voice for right to self-determination through use of brute force, Indian Army is now employing new tactics to deter people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir from pursuing the freedom cause.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in this connection, the Indian Army and paramilitary forces are hosting sports, musical, Hindutva cultural, medical and other events and programs in different areas of the occupied territory with the help of NGO’s and other groups sponsored by them.
Political experts in their interviews said that such events are mostly held in several villages and far-flung areas during which people are coerced to ensure their presence where they are also warned to keep themselves aloof from the pro-freedom activities.
At the same time, they say, the pictures taken by the Indian establishment at these events are exploited by the BJP regime to hoodwink the world into believing that situation is normal in the territory.
On the other hand, the human rights situation in IIOJK has deteriorated to an alarming proportion since the repeal of the special status of the territory by Narendra Modi led Hindutva government of India in August 2019. The acts of savagery including killings, arbitrary arrests and torture by Indian troops and police have become a norm in IIOJK. Besides, the BJP regime is using black laws to stifle political dissent in IIOJK.
In this grim situation, the world community must come forward and hold India accountable for human rights violations in the occupied territory and take immediate steps to protect the Kashmiris from the Indian onslaught.
