BJP MLA T Raja booked for violating election code in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Police have registered a case against BJP’s MLA Raja Singh for violating the election code by organizing a Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra beyond the permitted hours in Hyderabad.
According to the complaint, T. Raja Singh continued the procession near Hanuman Vyamshala, Koti, beyond the designated time and held a public meeting. The FIR stated that he caused a disturbance by using loud DJ sound and giving speeches after 11:15 pm, despite the meeting being required to conclude by 10 pm. This act was in violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
The complaint was lodged by a sub-inspector of the Sultan Bazar police who was on duty at Koti when the alleged violation occurred.
Additionally, the Afzalgunj police have also filed a suo moto case against T Raja Singh for conducting the procession despite being denied permission by the officials. The complaint said that Singh addressed the public, influenced them through his speech, caused traffic congestion, and created public nuisance by violating the orders.
