India turns IIOJK into an open-air prison, targeting people for political ideology
Srinagar: Political experts and Kashmir watchers in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have said that India has turned the territory into the world’s largest open-air prison, where all political and social rights of the people have been usurped.
According to Kashmir Media Service, political experts and Kashmir watchers in their interviews and statements in Srinagar said that the presence of over one million Indian forces (Army, BSF, Paramilitary and police personnel) deployed across the occupied territory had already made the life of the Kashmiri people a living hell. They said that the continued cordon and search operations, house raids and arresting youth on fake cases brought more mental torture and miseries to the oppressed Kashmiris.
Political experts and Kashmir watchers said occupied Kashmir has become the most militarized zone on the planet, where India has snatched all basic rights of the people, including the right to life. They deplored that the Kashmiris are being killed, tortured and arrested by Indian troops on a daily basis.
A political expert based in Srinagar, on the condition of anonymity to evade reprisal of the Indian authorities, told the media that world rights bodies have already warned of genocide in IIOJK.
Political experts and Kashmir watchers pointed out that the people of IIOJK have been victims of Indian state terrorism for over 7 decades, and over 96,000 Kashmiris had fallen to the Indian bullets since January 1989 till May this year. The Hindutva BJP regime and its establishments’ brutalities in Kashmir have no parallel in recent human history. They said, adding that the oppressed Kashmiris are waiting for the international community’s help.
Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has expressed grave concern over the victimization of Hurriyat leaders by the BJP-led Indian government to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle and are targeting the Hurriyat camp to force them to give up their just cause. The APHC spokesman Adv Abdul Rashid Minhas said the Hurrieyt leaders, activists and youth who continue to languish in Indian and IIOJK jails were being punished and victimized for their uncompromising stance on the Kashmir dispute. He said the world community needs to realize the fact that the BJP is using Kashmiri leaders as scapegoats to advance its communal agenda.
