Rawalakot youth moot honors Burhan Wani’s legacy on 8th martyrdom anniversary

Rawalakot: Speakers at a youth moot held in Rawalakot, AJK, commemorated the 8th martyrdom anniversary of popular Kashmiri youth leader Burhan Wani, highlighting his pivotal role in injecting new hope among the Kashmiri youth during his life and after his martyrdom.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the youth moot was organized by the Institute of Multi-Track Diplomacy, Dialogue, and Development Studies, in collaboration with PG College Rawalakot in AJK. The event, held in the grand hall of PG College, drew a large audience and featured influential speakers who paid tribute to Wani’s enduring legacy.

Speakers emphasized that Burhan Wani, recognized as a 4th generation hero of resistance against Indian occupation, effectively utilised social media to galvanise the youth and propagate the freedom struggle of Kashmir.

Dr. Zafar delivered a compelling speech, emphasizing the profound impact of Wani’s life and sacrifices. He elaborated on the broader implications of Wani’s actions on Kashmiri youth and the international community’s perspective on the Kashmir issue. Dr. Zafar called for continued solidarity and support for the Kashmiri cause, urging the youth to remain informed and active in their pursuit of justice and freedom.

Political commentator Dr. Waleed Rasool provided an in-depth analysis of Burhan Wani’s role in the freedom movement. Drawing on Nietzsche’s philosophy, Dr. Waleed illustrated how Wani’s individual actions significantly influenced historical events. He stressed that Wani’s message resonated deeply across generations, highlighting his potential to catalyze significant change and serve as a beacon of hope and resilience for the Kashmiri people.

Professor Mumtaz underscored the importance of unity and strategic efforts, urging the Kashmiri people to harness their collective strength peacefully to achieve their goals. He also brought attention to the plight of Hurriyat leadership, detailing their suffering and perseverance in Indian jails. By highlighting these leaders’ sacrifices, Professor Mumtaz reinforced the narrative that individual courage and endurance are crucial in the pursuit of freedom and justice.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the college administration, who expressed gratitude to the esteemed speakers and attendees for their participation. The administration reiterated their commitment to organizing more such events to foster awareness and solidarity for the Kashmiri cause.
