Right to self-determination best solution to Kashmir dispute: APHC-AJK
Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has said that giving the Kashmiris their birthright to self-determination, as per the United Nations resolutions, is the best solution to the Kashmir dispute.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC-AJK chapter leaders Syed Yousuf Naseem, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Altaf Ahmed Butt, Zahid Ashraf, Zahid Safi, Zahid Mushtaq, Ijaz Rehmani, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Syed Gulshan Ahmed, Muhammad Shafi Dar and Muhammad Ashraf Dar in their statements said that the main obstacle in the resolution of the Kashmir dispute is undemocratic behaviour of India and its attempt to suppress the voice of the Kashmiris through force.
They said over one million Indian forces’ personnel, deployed in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, have made life of Kashmiris more miserable through sieges and search operations, extrajudicial killings, unjustified arrests and other acts of oppression and tyranny.
The APHC-AJK leaders said the Indian government is following the same policy in the occupied territory as Israel has adopted in Palestine.
Expressing concern over the plight of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders, activists and youth, they appealed to international human rights organizations to put pressure on India for the release of the detainees.
