Islamabad: Kashmir is not an internal matter of India but an internationally recognized disputed territory
A report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, said the unresolved Kashmir dispute poses a serious threat to peace & stability in South Asia.
It said ignoring the Kashmir dispute only accelerates tensions and risks a catastrophic conflict. The United Nations must play an active role in resolving the Kashmir dispute to prevent a nuclear disaster, it added.
The report lamented that prolonging the Kashmir dispute would have far-reaching consequences for global security and a just and lasting solution to the Kashmir conflict was essential for ending the turmoil in the South Asian region.
It said the deteriorating situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir demands immediate international attention and the world must not turn a blind eye to India’s state-sponsored terrorism in the occupied territory.
India continues to block efforts for a fair and just resolution to the Kashmir dispute, the report said, adding the UN must dispatch a high-level fact-finding mission to investigate human rights abuses in IIOJK. If global powers fail to act, the Kashmir dispute could ignite a nuclear conflict in the region, the report maintained.
