Five Indian troops including JCO killed, five injured in Kathua attack
Jammu: At least five Indian troops including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and head constable were killed and five others injured in an attack in the Kathua district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred when two Indian army vehicles were targeted with grenades and automatic rifle fire by unknown attackers on Monday afternoon in Badnota village near Jenda nullah Loi Malhar tehsil of Billawar area of the district.
The Indian troops who died included JCO Anant Singh; Head Constable Kamal Singh; Rifleman Anuj Singh; Rifleman Asarsh Singh , later the injured army man succumbed to his injuries in a military hospital.
The condition of other injured troops is stated to be critical.
Indian troops and elite forces after sealing the area launched a massive cordon and search operation, which was ongoing till the last reports came in on Tuesday.
