Kupwara village suffers from IIOJK authorities’ apathy
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, residents of Qaziabad area of Kupwara district, are enduring severe hardships due to the authorities’ indifference to their basic needs.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the residents of Gujarnar village in the Qaziabad area talking to media men revealed the tale of hardships they face on a day-to-day basis. They added that despite repeated appeals to the concerned officials, there have been no significant improvements, leaving the villagers disheartened and struggling.
The residents highlighted the dire condition of the road linking Rengpath to Gujarnar, which remains riddled with potholes. “The road is in a terrible state, causing immense difficulty for commuters. We have been demanding its macadamisation for years, but our pleas have been ignored,” said a resident, Salam Din Seer.
In addition to the poor road conditions, residents are facing a severe shortage of potable drinking water despite the water department promising access to drinking water for every household in Kashmir.
The lack of cellular network coverage compounds their difficulties. Villagers are forced to travel several kilometers just to find a signal strong enough to make phone calls, with students particularly affected by inadequate mobile internet access.
Safety concerns are further exacerbated by dangling electricity wires and decaying poles. Despite numerous requests for upgrades to the electrical infrastructure, the authorities have yet to address these critical issues.
The persistent neglect by IIOJK officials has left the residents of Gujarnar feeling abandoned and desperate for relief. They are calling for immediate intervention from higher authorities to address these pressing needs and improve their quality of life.
