Mehbooba Mufti vows to keep Kashmir issue at forefront
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President, Mehbooba Mufti has pledged to keep the Kashmir issue prominent in political discourse, asserting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not be allowed to marginalize it.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a media briefing held in Tral, South Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti underscored that the Kashmir issue remains a central focus for the PDP. “Our primary concern is to keep the Kashmir issue alive. The BJP wants to bury it, but the PDP will continue the struggle to resolve it,” she stated.
Mufti also addressed other issues facing IIOJK, including unemployment, drug addiction, rising prices, and developmental challenges. “We are committed to working effectively on these issues to improve the lives of the people,” she added.
On the recent release of Engineer Rashid, Mufti questioned the timing and its implications for the upcoming Assembly elections. She argued that Rashid’s release would have been more impactful had it occurred during the parliamentary session, allowing him to raise the people’s issues directly.
Mufti also noted that many young people from IIIOJK remain in custody and suggested that their release should have been considered as well.
