Eighty-year-old woman gang-raped in India
New Delhi:: An 80-year-old woman was gang-raped by three men in Medchal, India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the woman, who lives alone, was overpowered by the suspects and sexually assaulted at Bandamadamaram village.
“They overpowered and raped her and fled the spot,” police said, adding that she regained consciousness and came out on the road. Passersby on seeing her alerted the police by dialing 100.
Based on a complaint, the Medchal police booked a case of gang-rape and are investigating.
Efforts are on to nab the suspects who are absconding. The victim was shifted to the hospital for medical examination.
In India, incidents of sexual violence against women have become a daily routine and these incidents are increasing day by day, while the Modi government is not paying attention.
Earlier, a video from the Indian city of Ujjain went viral on social media in which a person was found on the side of the road.
A woman can be seen being sexually assaulted. Surprisingly, during this incident which took place on the side of the road in broad daylight, people were busy making a video instead of catching the accused.
After the video went viral on social media, the police arrested the accused and the video maker was detained.
