BJP regime suspends Kashmiri Muslim officer in IIOJK
Jammu: The BJP-led Indian government has suspended a Kashmiri Muslim officer in Kishtwar district of the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, raising concerns over targeted actions against local officials.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the District Election Officer (DEO) of Kishtwar, appointed by the New Delhi-installed IIOJK administration, issued a suspension order for Masood Ahmed Qazi, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Kishtwar. The order alleges that Qazi left the office without prior permission, claiming it disrupted the functioning of the authorities.
This incident is part of a broader pattern observed since August 2019, when the BJP regime enacted significant changes in IIOJK’s administrative structure. Critics argue that these actions reflect a colonial approach aimed at sidelining Muslim employees and replacing them with individuals aligned with Hindutva ideologies. Numerous suspensions and dismissals of Muslim government employees, often justified under various pretexts, have occurred, raising alarms about the potential erosion of local representation and the integrity of the administration.
