Next IIOJK chief minister will be a ‘rubber stamp’: Iltija Mufti
Srinagar: Iltija Mufti, the daughter of leader of Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti has said that the next chief minister of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir will be a ‘rubber stamp’ and ‘mayor-like figure’ amid growing powers granted to the lieutenant governor.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Iltija Mufti expressed concerns on the reports, stating the lieutenant governor’s authority to appoint five members and alter assembly procedures renders the upcoming government toothless.
She questioned how much more authority India will snatch from Jammu and Kashmir.
