Mirwaiz expresses concern over Muslims’ plight in Indian
Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed concern over the plight of Muslims in India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a gathering held at the shrine of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani in Khanyar area of Srinagar in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir today said Muslims are constantly living in an environment of fear and terror in India.
He also spoke about the killing of Muslims, the prejudice against them, and the bulldozing of their homes and mosques in India.
Referring to the demolition incidents, he urged the rulers to stop discriminatory policies targeting Muslims. He criticized the Waqf Amendment Bill and said any attempt to disenfranchise Muslims will be fully resisted.
Mirwaiz also expressed concern over the challenges faced by Muslims at the global level and said the serious situation in Palestine is painful not only for Muslims but also for the entire humanity.
He highlighted the teachings of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani and said, “We can strengthen our relationship with our Allah by focusing on these teachings. He also underlined the role and importance of mosques and said mosques in Islam are not only places of worship but are also means of communication regarding religious, social, economic and political affairs of Muslims.
