Several injured after BJP workers attack NC MLA’s rally in Bandipora

Srinagar: At least a dozen people were injured after a rally held by National Conference MLA from Gurez, Nazir Ahmad Khan was attacked by BJP members backed by the Indian army in Bandipora district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred in the Gujran area of Tulail in the Gurez valley, where BJP workers attacked with rally attendees. Several vehicles were also damaged during the attack. In an effort to control the situation, Indian police deployed smoke shells to disperse the BJP workers.

MLA Nazir Ahmad Khan stated that the attack was orchestrated by BJP members and supporters of Faqeer Mohammad Khan, a BJP candidate who lost to him in the elections.

The Gurez area is considered highly sensitive and strategically important, with significant investments made by the Indian army and the RSS/BJP in efforts to secure influence and control. Despite these efforts, the local populace rejected the BJP candidate in the recent elections.
