India attaches another civilian property in IIOJK

Srinagar: The Narendra Modi-led Indian regime has attached the property of one more civilian, Manzoor Ahmad Langoo, in Srinagar, occupied Jammu and Kasmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency (NIA) attached the property in Zaldagar area of the city under baseless charges . The property, owned by Langoo, has been seized that a case has been filed against his son, Adil Manzoor Langoo, who is already in detention.

The property attachment was carried out under Section 25 of draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), which allows for the seizure of assets on just allegations of what the Modi regime deems as ‘unlawful activities’.

Critics argue that property seizures in Kashmir have been increasingly used as a tool to target families without clear or substantiated evidence, raising concerns about the laws and powers. The practice of attaching properties under UAPA has sparked outrage, with many blaming the Indian authorities for using the law to intimidate and punish individuals based on baseless charges.

Kashmiris see the attacment as part of a broader pattern of collective punishment affecting the local population. Many families in Kashmir have faced the confiscation of property without due process or transparent legal proceedings.
