Modi’s flawed recruitment policies threaten future of IIOJK youth: Mehbooba
Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti has sharply criticized the recruitment policies under the Modi-led government in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, saying they have exacerbated existing challenges and left the territory’s young population in a state of disillusionment.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement in Srinagar, Mehbooba Mufti expressed deep concern over the future of Kashmir’s youth, who, she said, have been shaped by decades of conflict, instability and lost opportunities. She emphasized that the ongoing turmoil in IIOJK, combined with systematic failures in the recruitment process, has deprived the youth of the opportunities they deserve. Mufti highlighted that irregularities, corruption, and inefficiencies in the recruitment system have left lakhs of talented youth unable to secure jobs despite their qualifications.
“The recruitment policies and processes in Kashmir are marred by corruption, scams, and inefficiencies,” Mufti said, adding that the skewed reservation system only exacerbates the problem. “Instead of providing equal opportunities to our youth, these policies have created a system where talent is overlooked, and only a select few benefit from mismanaged processes.”
Mehbooba Mufti further warned that unless these systematic issues are addressed urgently, they could have serious and long-lasting consequences.
