Muslim man beaten, stripped naked, forced to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in UP
Lucknow: A Muslim man was beaten, stripped naked, and forced to chant Hindutva slogans by three youths in BJP ruled Uttar Pradesh state of India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Gulfam Saifi a resident of Sofipur village, Meerut was returning home when Hindutva goons forcibly took him to nearby Victoria Park where he was stripped naked and forced to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ They also snatched his mobile phone.
The family said that Gulfam was preparing for a shooting competition and was returning home after a shooting practice session.
They said that Gulfam had lost consciousness after the assault. He is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
An FIR has been registered under sections 351(2) (criminal intimidation), 352 (intentional insult), and 324 (mischief). Police are currently attempting to apprehend the accused.
