Waqf Amendment Bill deliberate conspiracy against Muslims: Agha Hassan

Srinagar: Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader and President of Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Sharia Shian, Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al Safvi, has strongly condemned the proposed Waqf Amendment Bill, calling it a deliberate conspiracy against Muslims and an attack on their religious rights.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Agha Hassan, while addressing a religious gathering in Budgam, criticized the bill as a blatant interference in Islam and an attempt to undermine Muslim identity. He stated that the legislation could impact Muslim religious institutions and the community’s right to worship.
“This bill is not just a legal issue; it is an assault on our faith and fundamental rights. The Modi regime is trying to interfere in our religion under the guise of legislation,” Agha Hassan said, urging the Muslim community to oppose the bill at every level.
The proposed Waqf Amendment Bill has sparked significant controversy, with Indian opposition parties and minority groups criticizing it as yet another move by the BJP-led government to undermine the rights of the Muslim community in India. These groups state that the bill, which aims to amend provisions related to the management of Waqf properties, could lead to increased government control over these assets, potentially marginalizing the interests of the Muslim community.
