Concern expressed over rights’ violations by India in IIOJK

Brescia, Italy: The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum, Italy, held a meeting on the precarious situation in occupied Jammu Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, President of Jammu Kashmir Democratic Forum, Italy, Atiq Zubair Jaral chaired the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, human rights defender in Italy, Laura Raffaelli expressed concern over the serious rights violations being committed by India in occupied Kashmir. She said, “We believe in human rights values and continue to raise our voice on human rights violations.” She said they have received complaints of sexual abuse of women in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, which is extremely worrying.

The President of Jammu and Kashmir Human Rights Peace Forum, Atiq Zubair Jaral, on the occasion expressed full solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir and pledged to raise voice against Indian oppression. He said they will expose the Indian atrocities being committed in occupied Jammu and Kashmir until the fundamental and birthright of the people of occupied Kashmir is achieved.

He lamented that freedom of expression had been snatched away in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and there were all kinds of restrictions which the international community should take notice of. He said that supporting the oppressed and opposing the oppressor is the real struggle and this struggle will continue until the complete freedom of the Kashmiri people.

The meeting was attended among others by Italian Human Rights Chief Laura Raffaelli, Sardar Man Singh, Mohsin Warraich, President of Sports Club Brescia, and Chaudhary Tanveer Sahi.
