Ali Raza terms Shafqat Mohammad’s appointment to British House of Lords key in raising Kashmir issue
Brussels: Ali Raza Syed, Chairman of Kashmir Council EU, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Shafqat Mohammad, for his appointment to British House of Lords and termed it key in raising the Kashmir issue globally.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Shafqat Mohammad, a British politician of Kashmiri descent, became a member of the British House of Lords recently. Ali Raza Syed in a statement issued from Brussels stated that Lord Shafqat Mohammad’s contributions in raising the Kashmir issue at the international level, particularly within influential European circles, are highly commendable.
Ali Raza stated that, previously, as a member of the European Parliament, Lord Shafqat Mohammad had played a key role in raising awareness about the Kashmir issue, especially regarding the human rights of people in the occupied territory.
Ali Raza Syed emphasized that Lord Shafqat Mohammad’s commitment to justice and human rights serves as an inspiration to others. He expressed full confidence that his new responsibilities would further amplify the voice of the oppressed people of Kashmir and contribute significantly to efforts for a peaceful resolution of the long-standing Kashmir dispute.
He also expressed his best wishes for Lord Shafqat Mohammad’s continued success and prayed for his further elevation in stature. Ali Raza Syed hoped that Lord Shafqat Mohammad would continue his efforts to highlight the rights of the oppressed Kashmiri people.
