Srinagar: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, paid a glorious tribute to the martyrs of Badr, stating that this historic battle between truth and falsehood paved the way for the spread of Islam.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while addressing a grand ceremony held at the historic Aali Masjid Eidgah in Srinagar, on the occasion of Yaum-e-Badr and Yaum-e-Furqan said that this battle not only facilitated the propagation of Islam but also made the mission of spreading the teachings of Islam easier under the leadership of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Mirwaiz further paid homage to the renowned Quranic scholar and the spiritual leader of Kashmir, Mirwaiz Maulana Mohammad Yusuf Shah, on the occasion of his 58th death anniversary. He recalled how this distinguished religious and political leader of Kashmir had, despite facing adverse conditions, embraced exile and migration but never compromised on his principles.
He said that the late leader’s unparalleled religious, social, and missionary contributions were vital, with the most enduring and significant achievement being his translation and exegesis of the Holy Quran into the Kashmiri language, which received immense acceptance and recognition from Allah.
Mirwaiz also announced that the Mirwaiz Foundation is actively working on a mobile app for the translation and exegesis of the Quran, ‘Bayan al-Furqan,’ created by the late Mirwaiz of Kashmir. This app will cater to the needs of the younger generation and will be launched soon.
On this occasion, prominent scholars and religious leaders of the Valley, including Maulana Shaukat Hussain Keng, Maulana Khurshid Ahmad Qanoongo, Maulana MS Rahman Shams, Maulana Tahseen Qasmi, and Rafiq Ahmad Zargar, elaborated on the life and biography of the exiled leader, recognizing him as a guiding teacher and benefactor of the Kashmiri people.
