BJP leader opens fire outside Taj Mahal in Agra

Agra: A Bharatiya Janata Party leader opened fire at the ‘yellow zone barrier’ near the parking lot at the western gate of the Taj Mahal in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the accused, Pankaj Kumar Singh, reached the western gate of the Taj Mahal in an Ertiga car. He told police that he was an Indian government officer and asked to take the car to the gate of the Taj Mahal, but the police did not let him go further. After this, Pankaj fired three shots in the air from a revolver, which created a sensation in the area. After the firing, he fled.

According to Indian media reports, the police have now arrested Pankaj Kumar Singh and sent him to jail. Pankaj is said to be a BJP leader and is also associated with the Life Insurance Corporation.

The police have also recovered a licensed revolver and three cartridges from the accused.

During interrogation, the accused gave a surprising answer. He said that he opened fire because he wanted to.

The incident of firing took place on Monday morning.
