Rahul slams Agniveer Scheme as conspiracy to benefit Adani, destroying youth’s future

New Delhi: Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has launched a scathing attack on the Modi government’s “Agniveer Scheme,” labelling it a conspiracy designed to undermine the future of Indian youth and redirect defence funds towards corporate interests, specifically implicating the Adani Group.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Rahul Gandhi asserted that the Agniveer scheme has deprived millions of young people of permanent employment and pushed them into four years of military servitude. He argued that under this conspiracy, fundamental rights of soldiers, including pensions, job security, and permanent employment, have been stripped away, while simultaneously, Adani was awarded defense contracts worth billions.

According to Gandhi, the Modi regime has subordinated national security institutions to personal interests and the commercial ambitions of capitalists through the Agniveer scheme. He explicitly stated that the real objective of the Agniveer Scheme was to divert funds meant for soldiers’ pensions, salaries, and welfare of their families towards corporate defense deals. He said that funds meant for soldiers’ pensions were redirected to Adani Defence’s arms contracts, which is merely a labeling factory.”

He further claimed that Adani Defence neither manufactures weapons nor drones, it only imports foreign arms and sells them under its own label.” He characterized the scheme as a conspiracy to convert the sacrifice of soldiers into profits for Adani,” transforming national defense into a “business model.

“The Modi government sold the dream of youth of wearing the uniform and handed over contracts worth billions to Adani, converting the passion of youth into a business,” Gandhi stated. He said the ruling BJP is creating a war-like atmosphere to favor its close capitalist allies in the name of arms deals, asserting that poor youth are being sacrificed under the illusion of Agniveer.

Gandhi concluded by reiterating his stance that Modi has turned the nation’s army into a part of his friends’ business models, like Adani. He claimed the Agniveer scheme has become a silent weapon for corporate profits, filling the pockets of capitalists under the guise of security.
