Kashmir dispute holds prominent place in Pakistan’s foreign policy: Masood Khan

Islamabad,: Former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and senior diplomat Sardar Masood Khan has said that the long-standing unresolved Kashmir dispute holds a prominent place in Pakistan’s foreign policy.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Sardar Masood Khan in an exclusive interview spoke in detail about Pakistan’s foreign policy and Pakistan’s efforts to resolve the Kashmir dispute

He said the Kashmir dispute is an important part of Pakistan’s foreign policy and since the Modi government revoked the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019, the global attention on this issue has fluctuated.

He criticized India’s policy of bilateral talks to resolve the Kashmir dispute, saying India uses such tactics to divert attention from the Kashmir dispute at the global level, but Pakistan should not fall prey to its conspiracy.

Sardar Masood Khan said the world is well aware of India’s double standard and Pakistan should benefit from its vigorous diplomatic efforts. He made it clear that no solution to the Kashmir dispute can be sustainable without the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

He mentioned Pakistan’s diplomatic achievements and said that Pakistan’s status at the global level has increased after the improvement in relations with China and Russia.

Sardar Masood said Pakistan will have to adapt its diplomacy to the rapidly changing global situation and formulate its foreign policy only in the context of national interests.

He said Pakistan will have to inject new enthusiasm into its diplomatic strategy and take effective steps to advance its interests at the global level.
