July 19, 1947 resolution was expression of real feelings, aspirations of Kashmiris: Masarat Alam
Srinagar: Declaring July 19 as a very important day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, illegally detained Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Masarat Alam Butt has said that on this day in 1947, the Kashmiri people had associated themselves with Pakistan through their historic ‘Accession Resolution.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Masarat Alam Butt in a message from the infamous Tihar Jail in New Delhi said that the real representatives of Kashmiris had passed this resolution almost a month before Pakistan came into existence. He said the decision of Kashmiris to join Pakistan was not an emotional act, but behind it was the intervention of the great religious, civilized, social, cultural and civilizational ties that exist between Pakistan and Kashmir.
Masarat Alam Butt said that the historic resolution was an expression of the real feelings, and aspirations of Kashmiris. He said the people of Kashmir have been creating a great history of sacrifices for the last 78 years to implement the resolution.
He said Kashmiris have a great attachment to Pakistan and India’s oppression has not been able to end the yearning for Pakistan in their hearts. He said the sacrifices will definitely bear fruit and the dream of Kashmiris to join Pakistan will be fulfilled.
Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Fayyaz Hussain Jafri, Maulana Sibt Shabbir Qumi, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, Abdul Samad Inqilabi and Maulana Musaib Nadvi also in their statements said that July 19 is a very important day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir when on this day in 1947, the Kashmiri leadership decided to join Pakistan by passing the “Resolution on Accession to Pakistan” in Srinagar from the platform of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference.
They said that India has occupied Jammu and Kashmir by violating the wishes of Kashmiris, against which Kashmiris have made great sacrifices. He said that India’s extreme oppression could not remove the love of Pakistan from the hearts of Kashmiris and they are continuing their struggle for freedom from its rule and accession to Pakistan with determination and courage.
They urged the international community to take notice of the state terrorism being carried out by India in the occupied territory and to put pressure on the Indian leadership to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiris and the resolutions passed by the United Nations.
