Indian troops arrest three youth, one with help of FRS, in IIOJK

Indian forces continue operation in Kishtwar

Srinagar: Indian forces’ personnel arrested three youth while condor and search operation continued for the second day in Kishtwar district of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, India police arrested a youth identified as Muneeb Mushtaq Sheikh at the X-Ray Point, Ganishbal, Islamabad district with the help of so-called Facial Recognition System (FRS) installed by the Indian regime under black Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act [UA(P)A].

Police claimed that upon detection, Mushtaq was immediately taken into custody and shifted to Police Station Pahalgam for further verification.

On the other hand, Indian police detained two more persons identified as Mohammad Tahir and Hafizullah under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA). They were shifted to Kathua district jail and Bhaderwah jail.

Meanwhile, Indian forces’ personnel continued cordon and search operations in the Khankoo, Dachhan, Nagseni and Hadal Gal areas of Kishtwar district.

A brief gunfight occurred during a cordon and search operation launched by the Indian Army in the Khankoo forest located between Dachhan and Nagseni, following information about suspected movement of militants on Sunday, the Indian police officials said.

The exchange of fire continued for some time, but there have been no reports of any casualties, the officials said, adding that reinforcements have been rushed to the area.

Search operations are underway to track down the militants, the police added.

Meanwhile, more reinforcements have been rushed to the area to strengthen the cordon and search operation which was ongoing. Drones and sniffer dogs have been used to assist the ongoing operation.
