India’s fraud culture becomes global pandemic, astrologer arrested in New York
New York: A fraudulent Indian astrologer has been caught red-handed in New York while engaging in fraudulent activities as India’s culture of fraud has evolved beyond an internal issue and has now spread globally like a pandemic.
According to Kashmir Media Service, under the guise of yoga and Bollywood, Modi’s India has transformed into an international network of fraudsters. The nation, once promoting itself as the “Vishwaguru” (World Teacher), is now under Modi’s leadership emerging as one of the world’s largest fraud hubs. Fake spiritual practices and occultism have become a hallmark of Indian astrologers’ identity.
CBS News reported that Indian national Hemant Kumar Minipa deceived a 68-year-old American woman out of $60,000 using fraudulent spiritual practices and black magic. Minipa lured the woman under the pretext of removing the evil eye, offering blessings, and providing spiritual protection. He initially asked for $20,000 for his services, then demanded an additional $42,000.
Minipa further convinced the woman to meet him at a Broadway location for more spiritual services. At this point, he again asked her to withdraw $42,000 from a bank. The police acted when the woman went to the bank, and the bank staff became suspicious. The New York Police arrested Hemant Kumar Minipa outside the bank in Hicksville.
Under New York law, claiming spiritual powers and charging people for such services is illegal. This incident serves as another piece of evidence that India, despite preaching yoga and peace, has become a hub for fraud, deception, and exploitation. Under Modi’s leadership, India is emerging not as a soft power but as a fraud power on the global stage.
