Renowned Islamic scholar Shaikh Ahmad Shabani passes away in IIOJK
Jammu: Hujjatul Islam Shaikh Ahmad Shabani, son of Haji Hussain Shabani of Karkitchoo passed away in Kargil, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Shaikh Shabani was known for his lifelong commitment to Islamic education, social service, and global tableegh.
Thousands of mourners, including religious scholars, students, and citizens from across Kargil, participated in his Namaz-e-Janaza.
His body was brought to the Isna Ashriya Campus, Kargil, where final respects were paid in an atmosphere of deep reverence and sorrow.
Shaikh Ahmad Shabani began his religious journey at Madrasa Shaikh Ghulam Hussain in Karkitchoo, then in Madrasa Ithna Asharia Kargil, later pursuing further studies at Babul Ilm, a well-known Shia educational institute in Budgam, Kashmir.
He eventually advanced to Najaf Ashraf in Iraq for higher Islamic learning and after two years returned to Hawza Ilmia Qum and then to Hawza Ilmia Mashhad.
Upon returning from Iran he was among the few ulema of Kargil who ventured in improving Islamic seminaries all over India.
He was also associated with Al Khoei Foundation and was representative of Ayatollah Khoie and Ayatullah Seestani. Through this platform, he carried out extensive religious and humanitarian work across India and abroad, notably in Thailand and Bangladesh.
