DFP leader Abdullah Tari passes away in Shopian

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, prominent Hurriyat leader and General Secretary of Democratic Freedom Party Maulana Abdullah Tari passed away today in Shopian after a prolonged illness.

According to Kashmir Media Service, besides political, social and religious circles, a large number of people from the area attended the funeral prayers of the deceased. Later, he was laid to rest in his native graveyard.

Acting Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party Mahmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement in Islamabad expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Maulana Abdullah Tari and said that the deceased had dedicated his entire life to the Kashmir freedom movement.

He said that Maulana Abdullah Tari was a sincere and steadfast leader who, despite severe difficulties, always stood firm on the stand of truth and justice and played an important role in the freedom struggle.

Mahmood Ahmed Saghar prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with patience.

Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demises of Maulana Muhammad Abdullah Tari and senior Kashmiri journalist Abdul Rashid Shah.

In his condolence message, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq paid glowing tributes to the religious, academic, social and intellectual services of both personalities.

He said these respected elders of Jammu and Kashmir served the society with utmost sincerity, dedication and determination while rendering valuable services in their respective fields.

Mirwaiz said the demises of such respected and experienced personalities is a great loss for the valley.
