National Conference stages protest in Kulgam against abrogation of Article 370

Srinagar: The National Conference held a protest demonstration in Kulgam district, today, to mark the sixth anniversary of India’s unconstitutional actions of August 5, 2019, when Articles 370 and 35A were abrogated and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir was stripped of its special status.

According to Kashmir Media Service, led by the District President of NC Kulgam, Safdar Ali Khan, party leaders and workers gathered in Kulgam to voice their opposition against the decisions taken by Modi regime on August 5, 2019. Protesters raised slogans demanding the restoration of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and emphasized the need to safeguard the constitutional rights of the people of the territory.

Addressing the gathering, Safdar Ali Khan said that the move taken in August 2019 was undemocratic and has caused immense political, economic, and emotional distress to the people of Kashmir. He reiterated the party’s commitment to fight through democratic means for the restoration of rights and identity of the people.

The protest concluded peacefully, and the leaders reaffirmed their resolve to continue raising their voice for justice and the constitutional rights of Kashmiri people.
