Mirwaiz, Moosvi express anguish over killing of minor girl in Ganderbal

Srinagar: Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed deep shock and grief over the gruesome killing of a minor girl in Ganderbal district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir in a failed abduction attempt, terming the incident a matter of grave concern.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz said such a reprehensible act had not only extinguished an innocent life and devastated a family, but also shaken society at large and exposed the insecurity faced by women and children. He urged immediate action against the culprits and harsh punishment to serve as a deterrent and restore confidence among people. He extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for their strength in this hour of unbearable loss.

Mirwaiz underlined that it was the collective responsibility of institutions and society to safeguard the dignity of women and children and to ensure that such tragedies are prevented.

Meanwhile, Mirwaiz paid rich tributes to the great Kashmiri saint, Sultan-ul-Aarifeen Sheikh Hamzah Makhdoom Kashmiri (RA), describing him as a reformer and spiritual leader who dedicated his life to purifying souls and spreading Islamic teachings, humanity, nobility and compassion in the Valley.

On the other hand, Anjuman Sharie Shian President, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, also condemned the heinous killing of the Ganderbal minor and demanded exemplary punishment for those responsible. He said the barbaric incident had shocked the conscience of every citizen in a land once renowned for simplicity and humanity, raising serious concerns about the erosion of social and moral values in the territory.
