Indian policeman killed, three Injured in Chhattisgarh blast
Bijapur: An Indian policeman was killed and three others were critically injured in a blast in the violence-hit state of Chhattisgarh.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel, identified as Dinesh Nag, lost his life, while three others sustained injuries when an improvised explosive device (IED), allegedly planted by Maoists, detonated in the Indravati National Park area of Bijapur district on Monday.
The explosion took place during a cordon and search operation carried out by Indian police and paramilitary forces, which began on Sunday. The operation was targeting tribal communities that the Indian government refers to as Naxalites or Maoists.
